Starlet Recap

“It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Renee,” I said quietly. “I know that you were taken away from at a very young age. I can attest that she’s a beautiful and wonderful woman. She’s lost, though. I don’t know what Bella told you, but this year has been very rough for your baby girl. Just before Christmas, she was attacked by two men and I almost lost her. Those two men are still out there and I’m begging you to keep your eyes on Bella. She needs you; she needs to know that you are still there for her and that you love her.
“Another thing, I know that Bella said that we were getting married. I feel weird about marrying your daughter without asking for your blessing. You were obviously an important part of Bella’s life and I’d appreciate some sort of sign that you approve of me,” I murmured. “She’s my world and I’ve never loved someone as much as I loved Bella. She is truly my best friend. I will spend my entire life ensuring that she’s safe, happy, adored and protected. I can’t wait until I can call her my wife, but I want to know that you’re okay with that. Please?”
I sat back and waited, praying quietly to God and trying to keep my emotions from exploding to the surface. I couldn’t stop the tears from falling onto my face. Sitting next to Bella’s mother’s grave made me miss my family. My heart shattered a little bit at the prospect of having a wedding without my mother sitting in the front row, crying as her baby boy was getting married; not having my dad trying to give me wedding night advice…Tears dropped from my face and onto my shorts.
The wind blew and I faintly heard the tinkling of a wind chime. I looked up and it almost appeared that Renee’s picture was smiling a little wider. “Thank you,” I said, wiping my face. “I promise you, Renee that I’ll look out over your baby.”
“Edward, can we get going?” Bella asked, her voice sounding a little panicked.
I got up and started walking toward her. She was shaking visibly as she tried to run to the driver’s side. In the distance, I saw a Fork’s police squad car driving toward us. Bella tripped and fell. I ran to her, helping my fiancée to her feet. “Let me drive, baby,” I said, taking the keys from her hand.
“Why is he here?” she asked. “Can’t he give me a moment’s solace with my mother?” Her voice turned into a snarl as she glared at the approaching car. Helping her walk to the passenger side, I opened the door when the squad car pulled up in front of us. A tall man got out of the car, having the same build as Emmett. When he turned, I immediately recognized him as Charlie Swan. He had my girl’s eyes and the same colored hair, smattered with grey. “I’m not ready to see him, Edward. I just want to go home. Can you take me home?” she hissed to me. “I thought I could ask him, but I can’t…” Her body shivered and before I knew it, her eyes rolled back in her head. Bella collapsed against me, fainting dead away.

A Ilha do Amor Recap ~

Collapsing against her sweaty back, I pressed soft kisses to her spine. We both were breathing heavily, spent from our sexual endeavors against the couch arm. “Damn, Edward,” she giggled.

“Edward is unavailable right now. He’s had his brains fucked out of him by his sexy, perfect girlfriend,” I quipped, kissing behind her ear.

“That would be you fucking my brains out,” she laughed as I slipped out of her. Her body erupted in gooseflesh and I scooped her up, wrapping her in a throw blanket as I sat down on a large, cushy chair overlooking the Seattle skyline. “I am so lucky, Edward. I’m thankful for you coming into my life. I love you, baby.”

“As I love you, Bella. You are the greatest gift I’ve ever received and I am never letting you go,” I cooed, nuzzling her sex-ravaged hair. Her phone rang from her purse that was still by the door. She squirmed in my arms. “Did you not hear me?” I pouted.

“It’s probably my parents, checking to make sure that we got home safely,” Bella said, walking naked as the day she was born to the door. She picked up her cell phone. “Hello?” Her look of bliss from our love making quickly disappeared. “Becca? Deep breaths, sweetie. Tell me what happened…”

Angels and Monsters Recap

“Not happening,” Jasper snarled, glaring at the fire and the rapidly disintegrating letter. “I’m not sending you into enemy territory like a pig to slaughter. Who the fuck knows what that sadistic fuck wants with the two of you? It’s. Not. Happening!”

“I agree,” Edward said, crushing me to his chest. I just got you back. The way I felt when I was injured, when we were separated? No! NO! I’m never letting you go! You’re mine! Not his. NO! NO! NO!

“Edward, you need calm down,” I said as I turned in his arms. His panic was feeding Jasper’s.

“We all need to calm down,” Carlisle retorted, his voice full of resonance and authority. “Alice, what do you see if we send you and Bella?” Jasper and Edward both rumbled lowly. “I’m not saying we’re sending them, just what would happen?”

“It’s the only way for us to stand a chance of winning this battle. Do I see casualties? Yes, but for the most part, we all survive,” she said.

“What do you mean casualties, Tink?” Emmett asked as he gripped onto Rose. “Deaths or injuries like what Bella and Edward had to contend with?”

“Injuries and I’m seeing some death, but who it is…it’s unclear,” Alice said as her eyes narrowed. I could see her vision and it wasn’t clear at all. There was a lot of smoke and the smell of burning vamps filled our noses. “However, the only way this happens is if Bella and I go into their custody.”

“Do you see what they’re going to do to you?” Esme asked, her voice wavering. “I will rip that monster to shreds if he hurts either one of my daughters.”

“That’s unclear, too. I don’t think James wants to hurt us. He just wants our powers,” Alice said, arching a brow.

“This is a monster who took my angel’s innocence. This is a monster who is creating vampires to take over the city of Chicago. I’m not…no. You two are not going,” Edward said adamantly. “Why aren’t the Volturi coming and doing their fucking jobs? This is their domain in dealing with this shit.”

“I don’t know, Edward,” Eleazar said as he held his mate’s hand. “Normally, this sort of behavior would be handled with a swift and harsh hand. It’s almost like they’re turning a blind eye to this because they want James to succeed?”

“Really?” Carlisle scoffed. “I doubt that.”

“Well, they need to do something. James is delusional if he thinks that this plan is going to work. The way he’s thinking, humans will be driven to the point of extinction. Someone needs to bring them up to speed about the brevity of this situation,” Kate said. She turned to Garrett. “Want to fly to Italy, baby?”

He wrinkled his nose before nodding. “I’ll go make arrangements, love.”

“That still doesn’t fix what’s going on,” Jasper snapped. “Alice and Bella are not going to Chicago. It’s just not in the realm of possibilities. I need my mate, my wife. Edward will crumble if he doesn’t have his mate.” At that, Edward held me closer, kissing my neck and whimpering quietly.

“Jasper, we don’t have a choice. If we don’t go, we all die. If we do go, we stand a good chance of winning this,” Alice whispered, taking Jasper’s face into her hands.

“NO. I forbid this, Alice. You can’t go,” he sobbed, clawing at her body. “I can’t be without you…”

“If we don’t, we’ll have a month left with each other before we all die,” Alice whispered. “It’s our only chance of survival.” He choked out a sob before he scooped her up, darting away with her.

“When will we have to go?” I asked, my voice sounding hollow.

“You’re not going,” Edward growled. “No!”

“Edward, it’s the only way that we’ll have a chance to be together. To live our lives, happily. I have to do this. For us. For our family. For our way of living,” I muttered, turning in his arms. “I hate being away from you, but if it means we have a chance of survival, then I’m going to do it.”

“Everywhere we turn, something is ripping us apart. First, it’s Emmett with his hatred of you due to the person who changed him. Then, it’s the monster who tried to abduct me on our wedding night. Then, it’s this situation in Chicago. Our injuries and now, James is forcing you to join his band of evil for his own enjoyment? I DON’T FUCKING THINK SO!!!!” Edward screamed. “I will take you and run away, hiding you from that sadistic mother fucking prick if it’s the last thing I do on this miserable little planet. You are not going to him.”

“You don’t have a choice,” I said, narrowing my eyes at my mate. “Edward, I love you with my whole heart and soul, but all of this is because of me and my meddling in Victoria’s hunt. In some strange way, I feel responsible. It’s the only way I can rectify this situation, Edward.”

He roared and stared at me angrily before hopping up out of the chaise lounge. He gave me a parting sneer before taking off into the night. A low boom indicated he went supersonic, running away from me. My heart lurched and I collapsed onto the ground, sobbing brokenly.

He was gone.

He was gone and I had pushed him away.

Despite being surrounded by my family, I felt alone.

Alone.

Again, I was alone and this time it was all my fault.

Edward was gone.

Starlet Recap

“Alice sat down and calmly said that it’s always darkest before dawn.”
“
That’s what Carlisle said, too,” I murmured.

“She also said that the sun was rising for us and that we are on the mend,” she cried quietly, rubbing her thumbs along my jaw. “But, I do want to get into our house. I want to decorate it and move in with you. I also want to get better. That’s why I asked to go to the doctor today. I was put on Zoloft and Ativan. I take both in the morning. If these don’t work, the doctor has a couple of other options. But, based off my symptoms and what happened to me, Dr. Rickert feels that is a good place to start.”

“That’s great, Bella,” I said, hugging her to my chest. She sighed, threading her hands into my hair.

“I do miss us, too,” she cried softly into my neck. “I miss feeling you touch me and shower me with your love. I miss touching you and making you feel good. I miss our friendship. I miss everything about our relationship. I want it back, but that’s what’s scaring me. I don’t know how to get over these feelings of disgust. Dr. Myerson gave me a name of another therapist who specializes in rape counseling. I’m meeting with her tomorrow. I want everything with you. I truly do. I just pray that you are willing to be patient with me for a little while longer as I try to get my head on straight.”

“Bella, I’m not going anywhere. I’m sorry that I acted like an ass today…”I said, brushing my thumbs under her eyes.

“You had every right to. After hearing why you lost it, it makes perfect sense. You really wanted to propose?” she asked, her voice unsure.

“I still do,” I answered, pressing my forehead to hers. I took a breath and kissed her lips softly. “Don’t go anywhere.”

“What are you doing?” she asked as I darted into my room. I opened up my nightstand drawer and plucked out her ring.

“I’m doing what I should have done a long time ago,” I said, falling to my knee. Her eyes widened. “Isabella Swan, I love you with all of my heart and that will never change.” I took her hand and pressed it to my bare chest where my heart was stammering against my ribs. “You are my best friend and the strongest woman I
know.”

“Doubtful,” she grumped. “I should be there for you, Edward. I’ve been too busy wallowing in my own issues to realize yours…”

“Hush up so I can finish asking you to marry me,” I chuckled. “Alice and Uncle C were right, it is darkest before dawn, but without the darkness, you’d miss the sunrise. Share every sunrise with me, Bella? Marry me?” I opened up the engagement ring, holding it up to her, waiting for her response.

She stared at me for a long time, tears falling down her cheeks. I was afraid that she was going to say no. Hell, it wasn’t the most romantic or glamorous proposal, but after everything that happened today, I needed that sunrise. “Bella?” I asked.

“Yes,” she replied, looking into my eyes.

“Really? Yes?” I asked, shocked at her response.

“Yes,” she squealed, throwing her arms around me. I scooped her up and hugged her closely. I pulled back, pressing my lips to hers. It was a chaste kiss but I could feel Bella’s love through it. She sighed against my mouth before giving me a smirk. “Do I get the ring?”

“Oh, right,” I chuckled sheepishly. I nervously took out the ring and pushed it onto her left hand. “We have our sunrise, right here, baby. My dolcezza.”

“The first of many, Edward,” she replied, looking up at me. “I do love you, very much. I’m sorry for not being your rock…”

“It’s in the past and now we know,” I said, as I held her to my body.

“Now we know and we’ll learn from it,” she said. I gently guided her into my room and we fell into bed. We lay and stared at each other for the entire night. Just as dawn’s sunbeams began to breach the horizon, we grew tired.

“I love you, Bella,” I whispered, kissing her softly.

“I love you, too,” she replied sleepily. “First sunrise of the rest of our lives, Edward.”

“The first of many.”

Angels and Monsters Recap

“I should be with him,” I muttered, looking longingly south, back toward Chicago.

“Don’t,” Rose warned. She tugged on my arm, guiding back toward Whitefish Bay. “You don’t want to hear his screams.”

“It’s bad, isn’t it?” I whispered as we ran back to Esme’s house.

“Imagine what you felt in your leg times a thousand,” Rose grumbled. “It’s like going through the change again, but amplified for a short amount of time. Six vampires are injecting your husband with their venom to replenish what he lost and heal his wounds.”

“It should be me,” I growled possessively. The hollow feeling in my chest deepened and I started to change my course. Rose stepped in front of me, pressing her hand to my chest. “Fuck! Rose, let me go!”

“No,” she said harshly. Her phone beeped. She pulled it out of her jean pocket and she smirked.
“It’s done and they are working on getting Edward to hunt. He’s very weak and needs the boys to get his kill. They are just outside of Wisconsin, in a forest preserve. When they get something in Edward, you will need to take him up north to get some carnivorous blood.” Her phone beeped again. “And bond with your mate,” she snorted.

“How long until they get here?” I asked, picking at my venom covered clothes, plus the feeling of disgust and filth from James’ hands on me filtered through my brain.

“About an hour. You’ll have time to shower,” Rose replied, leading me back to the house. We got into the house and I went directly into the bathroom, stripping off my ruined clothes and tossing them into the garbage. As I stepped under the hot spray, everything from tonight hit me.

Hard.
