Attack of the Plot Bunny

I decided to lay down to close my eyes for a little bit because I was trying to sleep off the remnants of a migraine. I had a weird dream that might translate itself into a one-shot or a short story. We'll see ...

Isabella Swan, 37, decided to take a vacation, the first one on her own since her long-time relationship ended with her ex. She made arrangements, packed her bags and flew out to Los Angeles to have a long weekend all to herself. Her life had taken an unexpected turn and she needed the time to come to grips with the new reality of her new life. On her first night in Los Angeles, she strolled into a bar and decided to enjoy some alcoholic refreshment.

Edward Cullen, 26, an intern, almost a second-year resident, at Cedars-Sinai hospital, is planning on enjoying his first weekend off since he started at the hospital. He had made plans months ago to go on a romantic getaway with his girlfriend, but when she dumped him on Valentine's Day, those plans dissipated, but the weekend off still remained. After his shift, he wanders into the same bar, bumping into Isabella.

They talk and flirt in the bar. Edward convinces his new friend, Bella, to join him for a walk on the beach. They walk, hand-in-hand and talk about everything and nothing. It's refreshing for Bella, holding a stranger's hand and feeling at ease. It's new for Edward, picking up a stranger at a bar, but it felt so right. In the moonlight, they kiss and things get heated.

Edward drives them back to his condo, but as he does, a massive earthquake rumbles through Los Angeles. The roads buckle and Edward is forced to pull off the highway before his car is destroyed. Right before they arrive at Edward's condo, an aftershock causes them to have an accident, slamming the Volvo into a barrier and Bella receiving a nasty bump on the head. Carrying her out of his car, he brings her to his condo and assesses her injuries. She is unconscious and in pain. He feels an undeniable pull to this beautiful woman, but as he sees the scars on her body, he realizes that she has a past and a relationship could be on Shaky Ground.

  3. It sounds good, but maybe an older Edward, 40ish? Someone more mature to handle Bella's past better.

    1. The idea is forming, but alas, the head is up in the air like a balloon. Too many medications (headache, allergy and otherwise) and nasty weather. But, I must shoulder through! Hugs and thanks!
