I was padding back to my bedroom when my cell phone shrilled
in my pocket of my shorts. It was Bella and I eagerly picked up. “Hello, love,”
I purred into the phone.
“Hey, baby,” she said, her voice sounding sad.
“What’s wrong, sweet girl?” I asked, hearing the despondency
in her voice.
“Just bummed that Ang and I aren’t going to be living
together by this weekend. I mean, I’m excited at the new roommate I’m getting,”
she snickered.
“Who would that be?” I asked as I flopped down on my bed.
“Garrett,” she guffawed.
“You’re hysterical, Swan,” I deadpanned.
“Sorry,” she giggled. “I’m thrilled to be moving in with you,
but Angela is my best friend besides you. It’s going to be weird on Sunday to
wake up and not talk to her, you know?”
“It’s not like you’re moving out of state, Bella. She’s
moving in with Ben in Wrigleyville and you’re moving in with me. You’ll still
see each other at work,” I said.
“I know,” she sighed. “It’s just really hitting me now. Our
apartment is pretty much packed up except for the bare necessities. I’ve got
work tomorrow and Friday, then Saturday, Emmett and Garrett are coming with
their trucks to load up my bedroom set to put into storage. The rest of my
stuff is going to be in your place.”
aww, love Edward trying to make Bella feel better
