“Gloves, mouth guard, water bottle, ID,” Edward mumbled as he packed his bag. “Trunks? I need trunks.”

“In our haste, I forgot to give you the trunks,” Bella said, scurrying over to him. She was in a pair of jeans and one of his button downs for before the fight. She’d change into a black cocktail dress with sky-high heels for actual event. “Here, Edward. You have to wear our colors, baby.”

She handed him a box with the Bull Dog logo etched on top. He placed the box on the bed, opening it and grinning. Inside was a pair of deep purple trunks, with matching compression shorts for underneath. Under the trunks was a bright red robe with the Bull Dog logo on the back and his name spelled above his heart. “Wow … this is awesome! Thank you, angel.”

“Looks much better than the Volterra colors,” she said, taking the trunks and placing them in his bag. Turning and taking his hands, she smiled up at him. “You are going to kick so much ass, Edward. I’m proud of you and I love you so much.”

He leaned forward, pressing his forehead to hers. “I love you, Bella. I couldn’t have done this without you or without your dad. I’m so afraid that he’s pissed that I’m retiring.”

“He’s not, baby. He gets it,” Bella vowed, playing with his hair at the nape of his neck. “Don’t think about that. Think about the fight.”

Charlie barged into the room, scowling. “Tick tock, Masen. We’ve got to be at weigh-in …”

“I was just giving Edward the trunks,” Bella retorted, scowling right back at her father. “Yeesh, Dad. Calm your tits.”

“Sorry, Little Bells, but we’ve got to go. The limo’s here,” Charlie said.

Blockbuster Teaser

This was my choice. My body … my love.

I wanted to start the new year out right, by sharing my love with the man who loved me and whom I loved.

Once inside the house, I reveled in the beauty of the Christmas tree that was still up and lit in the front window. Bear was curled up underneath, snoring loudly. I snickered at my dog, shaking my head. “When the tree comes down, I’m afraid that Bear won’t know where to lay,” I quipped. “I kind of like him as a permanent present. Also, the twinkle lights are so magical …”

Edward slipped behind me, his arms around my waist. “As adorable as Bear is, he’s not my priority, gorgeous. You are,” he purred, kissing my neck.

“I’m nervous,” I admitted. “I …”

“You’re in charge, Bella,” he said quietly, turning me around in his arms. His green-eyed gaze penetrated into mine, soft and loving. “I love you. I’m not with you because I want to have sex. I’m with you because I love you, I love your spirit and your strength.”

“But, I want this. I want you,” I murmured, trailing my fingers along his jaw. “I know you won’t hurt me.”

“It would kill me to hurt you, Bella,” he said, leaning forward and pressing his forehead to mine.

I kissed him tenderly, tugging on his hands and leading him upstairs to my bedroom. Once inside, I closed the door and blushed furiously. “I’m going to change and clean up. There’s a flame thrower if you want to light some candles.”

“You got it, Bella,” he said, hugging me closely.

I kissed his lips again before turning to get something to sleep in. I found a black nightie along with a pair of lacy boy shorts. I ducked into the bathroom and clicked the door shut. I took my time taking off my clothes, changing into the black nightie. I scrubbed my face clean, staring at my reflection. Instead of the haunted look I usually wore, my face was relaxed. My eyes glimmered in anticipation. “He won’t hurt me. Edward loves me.”

About ten minutes after I entered the bathroom, I walked out, and my jaw dropped at the transformation of my bedroom. There were twinkle lights attached to the four-poster bed. Behind the headboard, there were more lights and along the dresser, candles were lit. “How did you do this so quickly?” I whispered.

“I’m just that talented. Remember that I’m a film director and a theater tech nerd,” he grinned, kissing my forehead. “You are a vision, love. I don’t know what I did to deserve you … your heart, your love, your beauty.”

“I’m not beautiful,” I snorted, wrapping my arms around his waist. “Passable, maybe.”

He gently grabbed my wrists, looking at me. “Bella, I know that you’ve been through hell and back, but you are incredibly beautiful. You’d been torn down by that animal with his harsh words and despicable actions. However, despite all of that, you are a vision beauty and strength. You are beautiful. Say it with me, love.”

I eyed him dubiously. “Edward …”

“Say it, Bella. I am beautiful and I am strong,” he breathed, staring into my eyes. His gaze was so intense. I could feel his love and feel his frustration. “Please, Bella. Say it.”

“I’m beautiful and I’m strong,” I whispered.

His hands cupped my face as he kissed me. “I will tell you until the end of time that you are beautiful and strong, because you are.” His lips pressed to my forehead and he gathered me in his arms. He picked me up as if I weighed nothing. “I think I remembered you saying that you wanted magic. I promised you magic. I want to give you that, love.”

Blockbuster Update

Blockbuster Ch. 23 on FFn

The next morning, I made us breakfast. I got up early to prepare the breakfast casserole, pancakes, biscuits, sausage gravy, fresh fruit, and monkey bread. I wanted nothing more than to stay cuddled in Edward’s arms. He held me close to his muscular body so tenderly, but with enough strength that I had to wriggle my way out of his grasp. When I was free, his lips pooched out in an adorable pout. I kissed him before walking down to the kitchen.

As I was putting the monkey bread into the oven, my son wandered into the kitchen, scratching his stomach, and yawning widely. His hair was a riotous mess, sitting down at the kitchen island. “You’re up awfully early, kiddo,” I said, pouring him a glass of orange juice.

“I had to pee, and I smelled breakfast,” he mumbled, giving me a sleepy grin. “Edward’s also up. I think he was in the shower.”

“Are you okay with my relationship with Edward?” I asked.

“Mom, he’s amazing and he obviously loves you so much. He said that he loved me, too,” Seth explained, a soft grin pulling at his lips. “I wish …”

“You wish what?” I pushed.

“I want Edward to be my dad,” Seth sighed. “I told him that and he said that … He treats you so good. He’s kind and I … I don’t know. What if he goes away?”

“I won’t, Seth,” Edward said as he walked down the stairs. He was dressed in a pair of jeans and sweater. “I mean, I will have to travel while making the movie, but that doesn’t mean that I’m walking away from you or leaving your mom. I’ll call you as often as I can. Rest assured, I will also be at your performance of your musical, Seth. I need to support my favorite kid.”

Seth’s grin brightened to wide smile before he shot off the stool and hugged him tightly. Edward laughed, kissing Seth’s forehead. They spoke quietly and I could see how much Seth adored Edward. However, it was Edward’s love for my son that made my eyes tear up. “Merry Christmas, Seth,” Edward said, hugging him.

“Merry Christmas, Edward,” Seth replied.

We said our hasty goodbyes. From the looks of it, we were not the only ones who were leaving. Rose and Emmett looked about ready to spontaneously combust. Quil and Embry were also eager to make their exit. Edward was stopped by Garrett and they exchanged phone numbers with promises to start training for the marathon by next weekend. Garrett also seemed interested in Cynthia, but I was eager to get back to my brownstone to get my taste of Edward.

We walked quickly to Edward's car. Neither one of us drank very much, but we were stumbling over each other and laughing. "We look drunk," I snickered.

"We do, but the sidewalks are awful," he said, his arm securely around my waist. "How can you walk in those heels?"

"They're thick," I answered, stumbling on a slick spot. "Holy crap."

"Don't fall, love. I don't want to spend New Year's in the ER," Edward chuckled.

"You think you're funny, Cullen," I deadpanned, taking another stumble until he swept me into his arms. "Don't drop me."

"Never, Bella," he said, gallantly carrying me the last few feet. We made it to his car. He helped me into the passenger seat, kissing me before closing the door. He got into the driver's seat, turning the car over and kissing me deeply while it warmed up.

"A cop is going to break this up, Edward," I panted against his mouth.

"You're just too irresistible," he said, caressing my cheek and gliding his fingers across my lips.

"Take me home, Edward," I commanded. "Please?"

With one more kiss, he pulled out onto the street and navigated the roads back to my brownstone. Shockingly enough, there was a parking spot right in front of my house. "I need to take Sam out, angel."

"I'm going to head inside and get more comfortable," I replied coyly.

He nodded slowly and we went inside. He hooked up Sam, who was sleeping underneath the Christmas tree. He seemed disgruntled and he begrudgingly went with Edward. I scratched behind his ears, walking inside. I left the Christmas tree lights on and I walked upstairs. I washed my face, but put on some lip gloss. I changed out of my outfit from the party and into a slinky navy-blue nightie. I slathered on some lotion while I waited for Edward.

"Bella, do you want the tree on?" Edward asked as he walked in my room. His green eyes popped out of his head. "Holy fuck, angel … you're gorgeous."

I lay back on the pillows, smiling at him with a giggle. "Oh, this old thing?" I'd purchased the nightie after the lovely day of pampering Edward treated me.

Edward chuckled, plucking the tag from the garbage can near the door. "You don't need to impress me, Bella. Trust me, I'm more than impressed, turned on and everything under the sun." He walked toward me, taking my hand and stood me up. Using my hand, he turned me around. His lips found the soft spot behind my ear. "You are beyond words, angel."

I finished turning around, sliding my hands up his chest. "Thank you, Edward," I murmured. We stared into each other's eyes as I gently scratched his scalp with my fingers. His hands ghosted over my skin, gliding over my spine and making me shiver. "You're in charge, baby. I want a taste … but …" I teased my mouth of his. His palms moved to my ass, squeezing gently. My hips were pressed forward and I could feel his growing arousal.

"I want to explore," he said, his voice quiet, unsure. "But, one request?"

"Anything, Edward," I vowed.

"Just don't hold me down …" he sighed, pressing my forehead to mine.

"I couldn't, even if I tried, Edward," I said. "You're much stronger than me."

"Please, Bella," he whispered. His plea was shattered.
