"No passes allowed, Edward," Bella said. "You can be vague. Are you secretly an axe murderer?"
"Psssh, no. Isn't it a little late to ask if I'm an axe murder?" Edward snickered, arching a brow over his glasses. Bella's responding shrug and grin was easy as she took a sip of her coffee. She also gave him a pointed glare, encouraging him to answer her question. With a sigh, he replied, "I had a falling out with my family. They didn't agree with my decision to be a doctor. They felt it was beneath me and our family."
"A doctor is an honorable profession. What the hell?" Bella spat.
"It is an honorable profession, but when you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth … the rich want to get richer," Edward sighed.
